Sivananda Yoga

A typical class includes relaxation, warm-up exercises, breathing exercises and 12 basic postures.  The postures (or asanas as they are called in Sanskrit) focus first on the health of the spine, increasing both strength and flexibility.  In addition to working on the muscles, these postures also work on the glands and organs of the body.

All participants should come to class with an open mind and an empty stomach

(It is recommended not to eat at least two hours before class begins)

Wear loose comfortable clothing and no shoes

Each student will need a mat and a blanket for class.

 

Anyone who has or had any cardio-vascular problems must get written permission from their doctor before attempting the inverted positions.

 

Classes will be held on Tuesdays from 5:30pm – 7:00pm and

on Wednesdays from 5:00pm – 6:30pm and 6:45pm – 8:15pm
