Frequently Asked Questions
What should I wear when receiving a massage treatment?
When receiving a massage, it is best to undress to your comfort level. Therapists at all times will properly drape the linens so that all parts of the body are correctly covered.
What should I do before I come in for a treatment (excluding nail and waxing services)?
Before a treatment, you want to make sure to increase your water intake. Water will help the body naturally flush out toxins and allow your muscles the ability to relax easier. Also, you want to eat a lighter meal and make sure to arrive 20-30 minutes before your service begins so that you have plenty of time to start the relaxation process.
Why do I have to fill out paperwork before a service at Kneaded Relief?
All services at Kneaded Relief do require a level of paperwork to be filled out. Because of the nature of the services the therapists need to know any previous/current medical history as well as specifics in regards to what the therapist will be working on. At Kneaded Relief we want to help you to the best of our ability and the more information we have the better we can help you achieve whatever goal you have when you come on in. What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for a 24 hour cancellation for Monday - Thursday appointments. For Friday - Sunday appointments and all packages, we ask for for a 48 hour cancellation.
What is the difference between relaxation and therapeutic massage?
Relaxation massage is designed to relax your mind and body It will include long relaxing strokes with some friction and kneading techniques. Typically called a Swedish Massage. Therapeutic massage utilizes Deep Tissue massage techniques aimed to address therapeutic concerns, injury treatment and releasing chronic tension patterns. It will include slow, deep strokes, compression and trigger point release.
How do I know which facial treatment is best for me?
If you would like to receive a facial at Kneaded Relief but are unsure of which one to choose we would say to come in and receive a Free 15 minute consultation with one of our estheticians before you book the facial. They will look over the skin and together you can decide what facial would work best for the results you are looking to achieve.
Can I call if I have questions after my service? Who do I speak with?
At Kneaded Relief we welcome all calls concerning your service. Most questions can be answered by our Guest Services, but if they feel that your questions can be better answered by a therapist or a manager they will direct you to the appropriate person.
Do I need to bring in swimwear to wear during a hydro service?
All hydro units are completely private and sanitized after each use, so you are welcome to bring a swimsuit but it is not a necessity.
If I am pregnant should I tell the Guest Services Representative on the phone?
Yes. Services usually have to either be modified or unfortunately not performed if a client is pregnant and in their 1st trimester. Once the client is in their 2nd or 3rd trimester more services become available for the client to do but still must be modified due to new physical adjustments made throughout the pregnancy. If the Guest Services Rep is aware of the pregnancy they are able to suggest services for you and give the therapist the correct amount of time for the service.
Why must I be in my 2nd trimester to receive a massage?
During your 1st trimester your body is still adjusting to the pregnancy and the risks associated are greater. Once in your 2nd trimester, your risks lower and massage therapy is a great option to help relieve your body of the stress and tension that comes with your body carrying a baby.
When receiving a waxing service are their any medications I should avoid?
Clients taking Accutane cannot receive waxing, those using Retin-A, Renova or other AHA's should discontinue use for 48 hours prior to receiving any waxing treatments. If these medications are used and not discontinued before a waxing service, lifting of the skin can occur.

What is the difference between a Pedicure and a Spa Pedicure?
In a Spa Pedicure your feet are first placed in a warm, therapeutic bath combined with sea salts to help soften and smooth your feet. Next you will receive an exfoliation treatment to help rid your feet of dry, callused skin. Your feet are then brushed with a detoxifying mask. This is followed by a pampering foot and lower leg massage and a warm paraffin dip to relax sore, achy feet. Lastly, the polish of your choice is applied with a base and top coat to help it last. A Pedicure is the same as a Spa Pedicure except it does not include a paraffin dip or mask.
What if I need to use the restroom during my massage?
If you do need to use the restroom, please just let your therapist know and they will give you a robe to change in to and direct you to the restroom. We want you to be able to fully relax and if this or anything else becomes a nuisance then please just let your therapist know.
Why am I offered a pair of spa sandals to wear when I am at Kneaded Relief?
We would like to give you the best experience possible at Kneaded Relief and to take off your shoes and slip into comfy spa sandals helps with that experience.
Should I take my make-up off before I receive a facial?
